The software does not independently authenticate, certify or appraise memorabilia. Information, evidence classifications and conclusions are created by the user.
User-generated reports
Exported PDFs document the user's research. They are not PhotoMatchForensics authentication certificates and are not automatically reviewed or approved by PhotoMatchForensics.com.
Local-first operation
Version 2.0 stores working data locally and contains no telemetry, advertising tracker, cloud synchronisation or automatic upload of collection and research data.

An item can include descriptive information, a primary image, additional photography, identifiers, purchase and value information, currency, provenance records, supporting documents, Wear Analysis, references and one or more research workspaces.
The Photomatching Workspace supports Match, Mismatch, Observation and Unresolved Points. Each type uses its own colour and gap-free sequence across the complete research case.
Yes. A research case can contain multiple Comparison Sets. Each set compares one item image with one reference image, allowing different views, details, dates or source photographs to be documented.
Version 2.0 supports independent photomatching zoom up to 750%. The saved image view is retained and is also used when rendering the comparison in the PDF report.
Yes. Evidence descriptions, strength and visibility can be edited. Points can be deleted with confirmation, and the remaining sequence is automatically renumbered without gaps.
Reports can contain item information, item photography, annotated photomatch comparisons, colour-coded evidence tables, research findings, generated date, footer branding and Page X of Y numbering.
Yes. Version 2.0 includes provenance and chain-of-evidence records, item-linked supporting documents, previews and a Reference Library with source metadata.
Items can first be archived or moved to Trash and restored later. Permanent deletion uses additional confirmation and also removes dependent generated report records and PMF-managed report files.
Yes. The Statistics module summarises collection values by currency, research coverage, evidence and documentation totals and high-value items. Different currencies are never added together.
Yes. PMF 2.0 includes a migration option for existing PMF 1.0.7 data. Creating a backup before migration is recommended.
The Windows application stores its working data locally on the computer. It does not automatically upload items, images, cases or reports. Users remain responsible for backups.
An Android version is planned and the download button is already prepared. It will be activated when the official Android package is ready.
Yes. The website administrator can independently enable or disable the public Windows and Android downloads without deleting the uploaded release files.
