MIN Wordmark Detail

This comparison set focuses on the letters “MIN” within the front “MINNESOTA” wordmark of the jersey worn by Martell Webster against the Phoenix Suns on December 15, 2010. The reference imagery and the examined jersey were compared for correspondence in letter shape, layered twill construction, edge contours, stitching patterns and relative alignment. Particular attention was given to localized stitching irregularities, fabric deformations and the positioning of the letters in relation to the underlying mesh-perforation pattern, which may distinguish this individual jersey from other examples of the same uniform design.

Photomatch Summary

Assessment

The examined Martell Webster jersey was compared with in-game photographs from the Minnesota Timberwolves game against the Phoenix Suns on December 15, 2010. Multiple corresponding characteristics were identified across independent comparison areas, including the complete front “MINNESOTA” wordmark and the front number “5.” The photographic evidence demonstrates consistent alignment between the applied lettering and numeral and the underlying blue mesh fabric. Corresponding perforation patterns were documented above and below the wordmark, between adjacent letters and within exposed areas formed by the individual letter contours. The number, spacing and position of the visible mesh holes maintain the same relationship to the surrounding black twill edges in both the examined jersey and the in-game imagery. Further correspondence was identified around the front number “5.” Matching mesh-hole arrangements are visible above and below the numeral, along its left side and within its upper and lower openings. These patterns display consistent positioning relative to the stitched black twill border across both images. The collective agreement of numerous independently positioned mesh-perforation patterns throughout the wordmark and front numeral supports the conclusion that the examined jersey is the same individual garment worn by Martell Webster against the Phoenix Suns on December 15, 2010. No material contradiction was identified within the photographically visible comparison areas.
Methodology

Comparison Method

The examination was conducted through a detailed side-by-side visual comparison of the examined jersey and in-game photographs showing Martell Webster during the Minnesota Timberwolves game against the Phoenix Suns on December 15, 2010. Independent comparison sets were created for the “MIN,” “NES” and “OTA” sections of the front “MINNESOTA” wordmark and for the front number “5.” The applied lettering and numeral were examined for correspondence in overall shape, layered twill construction, edge contours, stitching patterns and alignment on the blue mesh body. Particular attention was given to the number, spacing, orientation and relative positioning of the mesh perforations visible within and around the applied elements. For the wordmark, the investigation evaluated the perforation rows above and below the lettering, the vertical mesh-hole arrangements between adjacent letters and the exposed perforations contained within individual letter openings and contours. Their positions were compared in relation to the adjoining black twill borders, pointed letter terminations and curved or diagonal edges. The front number “5” was examined using the same approach. The comparison included the mesh-hole patterns above and below the numeral, along its left vertical edge and within its upper and lower openings. These areas were assessed according to the position and spacing of the perforations relative to the surrounding stitched twill contours. Differences caused by image resolution, viewing angle, lighting, fabric curvature, garment tension and player movement were considered during the evaluation. The conclusion was based on the combined agreement of multiple independent construction and alignment characteristics rather than any single feature. No conflicting characteristic was observed within the visible comparison areas.
